DIY All Natural Dish Soap

Want to save a few bucks on dish soap without buying the who-knows-what’s-in-there stuff? You’re in luck! This recipe is for all natural dish soap using essential oils, lemon juice, and Dr. Bronners Castille Soap.

Give it a go and let me know what you think!

Hey, Heather Angel

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup liquid castile soap (I used Dr Bronners Hemp Almond)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
40 drops essential oils (I used 20 lemon, 10 lavender, 5 bergamot, 5 tea tree)

Directions

Bring water to boil and shut off heat. Add liquid soap and stir gently. Now stir in the lemon juice. Set aside and allow to cool. In a small bowl or custard dish, mix together your oils. Once soap mixture has cooled, add in essential oil blend and stir again. Use a funnel to pour into a reusable container (I used our empty store bought soap bottle). Enjoy!

Notes: Soap will be much thinner than your typical store bought soap so pour carefully! Soap will not create nearly as many bubbles as typical dish soap, but trust me – it’s working just as hard. (Suds do not equal clean.)
