DIY: Essential Oil Yoga Mat Cleaning Spray

This morning, I noticed my yoga mat needed some freshening up. (¬_¬) So, I did a lil’ research and discovered that rosemary essential oil is a natural disinfectant and works great for cleaning products – score! AND rosemary has a load of benefits for aromatherapy usage, so it makes for a perfect scent to have on your yoga mat.

I chose to blend rosemary and lemon essential oils so that there was a light, citrusy “zing” to complement the earthiness of rosemary.  After spritzing and wiping down my mat, I am happy to report that it smells great and is fresh for the next use!

As always, feel free to experiment a bit with the EOs you choose — You could even add more oils for a more complex scent if you’d like. A few suggestions on blends with rosemary that pair well together:

1. Rosemary & Mint (clarifying and refreshing)
2. Rosemary & Lavender (ultra stress-relieving)
3. Rosemary & Lemongrass (energizing)
4. Rosemary & Cedarwood (very earthy / woody)

I need to do this. My yoga mat may be beyond repair at this point though. It’s peeling! Has that ever happened to you?

:( You might need to get a new one. We had one that started peeling so we junked it.
